A story ~ Because I love you
*9 years later...*
It is a sweltering summer day swallowed up by a blunt, blue void.
As I sit on this bench,
I imagined those who impatiently came and rushed off before me.
As I scan the bus window,
I felt the tiredness of those who were as exhausted as I am.
As I leave for the promise,
At the edge of the long, green field,
The thistles of grass poke me under my ankles and,
The silence is filled to the brim with noise.
I reminisce on the melancholy of each child who grieved as I did.
I remember that they had to like their own presence,
Because no one else would do it for them.

How I couldn't wait to lay my head down,
Under the shade of a maple tree,
Along the walk of memories.

I meet my past reincarnations here,
Just like how I meet you today.
Mourning with your permission to grow.
Forgiveness with my dose of regret.
Apologies with the nuance of knowing that,
I would not be who I am today if I didn't abandon you the way I did.
Did I commit a necessary evil,
Or was the change more than necessary?
The answers are just as mysterious as the questions,
As it is with everything else.
But,
Is life really meant to be completely figured out?
Whoever says you must know everything,
Really doesn't know much themselves.

You could do something.....that helps this cutie to grow. Even just talking to it helps it grow (it gives CO2 mate).
You could eat or drink.....mochi, of any flavour.
You could remember that.....if I could, I would give you a hug. Part of me thinks that I wouldn't do it if I met you, but even I surprise myself sometimes.
